About The Position

At Hands of Heartland, we believe that people with developmental disabilities are people first. We will always place the person before the program.

The Learning & Development Specialist will lead in-person physical skills training sessions for all newly hired team members.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• One to three years of experience working with individuals with disabilities
• Experience operating in a training role with hands on instructor experience
• Current Mandt 3.0 RCT Instructor certification required
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong presentation skills.
• Adept with a variety of multimedia training platforms and methods.
• Ability to evaluate and research training options and alternatives.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.
• Ability to communicate with other people in-person, by telephone, and in writing
• Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
• Reliable transportation.

Nice To Haves

• Current American Red Cross CPR/FA/AED Instructor certification preferred

Responsibilities

• Facilitate physical skills training for Mandt 3.0.
• Facilitate physical skills training for CPR/FA/AED.
• Responsible for maintaining accurate and up-to-date training records.
• Obtain or develop effective training materials utilizing a variety of media.
• Plan, organize, facilitate, and order supplies for training events.
• Work effectively as a team member with members of Area Management and the L&D team.
• Complete all other duties as assigned
