Review more information at BNL | Benefits Program ORGANIZATION OVERVIEW The Human Resources (HR) Directorate, led by the Associate Lab Director for Human Resources (ALD HR)/Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO), manages all Human Capital Management functions including, but not limited to, training and development, scientific and non-scientific talent acquisition, compensation, benefits, employee and labor relations, occupational medicine, and guest/user/visitor center. POSITION DESCRIPTION The Learning and Organizational Development team is an integral part of the Human Resources Directorate. It serves as a center of excellence for Leadership Development, Training and Qualifications, and Nuclear Safety Training. In this role, you will support the analysis, design, development and implementation of institutional compliance training. This role reports to the Training and Qualifications Manager. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Serve as a training specialist and instructional designer, responsible for the design, maintenance, and development of e-learning and in-person courses to support institutional compliance training Create course content, training packages, and develop interactive learning modules; structure curriculum based on learning objectives Periodically evaluate the efficacy of training output during the design, development, implementation, and observations of performance, and provide improvement recommendations to the Training and Qualifications Manager Coordinate involvement of line organization personnel for the SAT development of training materials; conduct and update the SAT process for specific positions and training courses applicable Generating reports on compliance metrics and overall learner experience and using data to inform course improvements. Developing training solutions using e-learning development tools, which include using storyboards and design direction to create resources such as videos, job aids, and modules. Design, develop and deliver instructor-led, virtual, and online e-learnings in support of lab-wide Training and Qualifications Responsible for exam review and training assistance to staff upon request, including remediation and continuous improvements Perform needs assessments to evaluate training and identify gaps POSITION REQUIREMENT: Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business or related field or equivalent experience, generally on the basis of 2:1 (experience:college) years A minimum of four (4 ) years’ relevant hands-on work experience in designing and delivering in-person and web-based training Experience in instructional design within scientific or laboratory environments Hands on experience with instructional design and online course development tools such as Articulate Storyline, Rise, and similar Ability to manage multiple projects independently and deliver quality training materials that meet regulatory and industry requirements PREFERRED: Ten (10) years of relevant professional experience Knowledge of Systematic approach to training (SAT) process including analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation and/or (ADDIE) model (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation) Experience working with Workday Learning Management Systems (LMS) Industry certifications in instructional design, curriculum development, performance improvement, project management, and content-specific certifications as appropriate Experience presenting in MS Teams and Zoom online platforms Strong interpersonal and communications skills Demonstrated ability to think strategically and work collaboratively Additional Information: This position is eligible for consideration of a remote work arrangement This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship Brookhaven National Laboratory is committed to providing fair, equitable and competitive compensation. This is a multi-level role and the full salary range for this position is $80300 - $120000/ year. You will be placed at the level and salary commensurate with your experience. Salary offers will be commensurate with the final candidate’s qualification, education and experience and considered with the internal peer group.
