Job Details (Contract & Pay): This is a contract position with an estimated end date of May 2027. The hourly rate is $24.00. Please note that contract positions are not eligible for additional monetary benefits or health care coverage. Job Summary: We are seeking a law student who has completed their first year (1L) to join our Legal Department as a Legal Intern. This role will support the Corporate & Transactions Legal Team based in New York, New York. This internship is intended to provide hands-on exposure to the practice of law in an in-house environment. The position is full-time during Summer 2026 (flexible start date) and part-time during the academic year (Fall 2026 and Spring 2027), with a hybrid option available based on business needs. Responsibilities include assisting attorneys and legal staff with contract and policy drafting, creating presentations and training decks, and conducting research and analysis in the areas of corporate law, contracts, cross-border transactions, and alcoholic beverage control law. Requirements

  • Law student who has completed their first year (1L) at an accredited law school with a strong academic record.
  • Authorized to work in the United States and at least 21 years of age.
  • Available to work full-time during Summer 2026 (flexible start date) and 15–20 hours/week during Fall 2026 and Spring 2027.
  • Prior experience in a legal working environment.
  • Excellent legal research skills, including Westlaw competency.
  • Ability to demonstrate initiative, multitask, and remain attentive to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects at once in a fast-paced, highly regulated environment.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and organizational skills, with the ability to see both detail and big-picture issues.
  • Comfortable learning quickly, asking questions, and communicating effectively with business stakeholders.

Nice To Haves

  • experience working at a major law firm as an assistant or paralegal
  • moot court or law review/journal experience
  • completion of at least one research class
  • knowledge of and experience with corporate law and contract analysis/drafting

Responsibilities

  • Assist attorneys and legal staff with contract and policy drafting, including preparing drafts, redlines, and summaries for review.
  • Conduct legal research and analysis (including using Westlaw) in areas such as corporate law, contracts, cross-border transactions, and alcoholic beverage control law, and present findings in a clear, practical way.
  • Create and update presentations, training decks, and internal materials to support legal guidance and business education.
  • Support corporate and transactional matters by helping gather information, organize documents, and track open items through completion.
  • Manage multiple assignments at once by tracking deadlines, maintaining organized work product, and communicating status updates to the team.
