About The Position

The Legal Intern at the Law Office of Bryan Fagan will support the legal team by performing various administrative and substantive tasks related to legal research, document drafting, case management, and office operations. This internship provides an opportunity to gain hands-on experience in different areas of law while learning from experienced attorneys. This position is available in 3 of our locations, Houston (Corporate and River Oaks) and Dallas. The Law Office of Bryan Fagan is a firm that excels in family, estate planning & probate, and criminal law matters. We currently have (11) offices in Texas: (2) offices in Houston (Corporate and River Oaks), and (1) office in Atascocita, Humble, Kingwood, The Woodlands, Austin, Dallas, San Antonio, Fort Worth, and Humble, and will continue to have paralegals in these offices.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in a law school or a recent graduate of a law program.
  • Strong research, analytical, and organizational skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency with legal research platforms (e.g., Westlaw, LexisNexis) and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks with attention to detail and meet deadlines.
  • Strong work ethic and a proactive attitude towards learning and contributing to the team.

Responsibilities

  • Legal Research: Conduct in-depth legal research on a wide variety of legal topics using online databases, libraries, and other resources.
  • Analyze and summarize legal statutes, regulations, case law, and other legal sources.
  • Document Preparation: Assist in drafting and reviewing legal documents such as contracts, agreements, pleadings, motions, and briefs.
  • Proofread and format documents to ensure compliance with court or corporate standards.
  • Case Management: Assist in organizing and maintaining case files, documents, and evidence.
  • Participate in case strategy meetings and help prepare legal arguments.
  • Attend client meetings, court hearings, or depositions with supervising attorneys (if applicable).
  • Administrative Support: Handle administrative tasks such as filing, data entry, and answering phones when needed.
  • Assist with scheduling and coordinating meetings, conferences, and appointments for the legal team.
  • Compliance and Policy Support: Assist in researching and analyzing company policies, compliance requirements, and industry regulations.
  • Support internal audits and compliance reviews.
  • Client Communication: Draft routine client correspondence and communications under attorney supervision.
  • Assist in preparing client presentations and reports.
  • Other duties as assigned
