In this paid internship, you’ll be empowered to work on challenging and complex issues in a collaborative environment with other talented interns. Over the 10-week program, you’ll participate in business projects, mentoring, leadership development training and team-building activities designed to set you up for professional success. The summer Internship program runs June through August, with flexible dates available, based on school schedules. We're looking for individuals who are passionate and entrepreneurial, just like our clients. Specifically, we're looking for top-performers interested in pursuing careers in Commercial Banking. The legal intern will have an opportunity to work alongside in-house attorneys and paralegals on legal matters gaining firsthand in-house legal department experience. Roles and responsibilities of a legal intern include, but are not limited to: Collaborating with in-house attorneys, paralegals, and outside counsel on compliance issues, regulations and industry standards with a focus on banking, finance, corporate, employment, and other related matters. Assisting with ad-hoc projects by researching legal issues and regulatory developments, and preparing summaries of research. Researching and interpreting laws, regulations, decisions, documents, opinions, briefs, or other information related to cases. Analyzing legal issues and applying appropriate legal principles to determine applicable defenses, relevant arguments, and legal strategy. Drafting and revising a variety of legal documents such as memos, legal correspondence, and organizational documents. Preparing legal memoranda or statements of issues involved in legal matters, including appropriate suggestions or recommendations.
