The foundation is in the public phase of a historic campaign to raise $3 billion to build a better future for Nebraska. The campaign is being led by many enthusiastic volunteers representing all areas of the University of Nebraska System. This paid position offers a flexible schedule of 10-15 hours per week during the school year (subject to change over the summer based on availability), professional experience, and a convenient downtown Lincoln office location.

Current student status as a J.D. Candidate at the University of Nebraska – Lincoln.
Demonstrated communication, writing, and editing skills.
Excellent project management and time management skills and abilities.
Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Word and Excel), Adobe Acrobat, and aptitude to learn new technologies or databases.
Capable of handling confidential and sensitive materials.

Responsibilities

Assist the General Counsel group with legal research, writing, and compliance in the areas of real estate, tax, contracts, estate planning, legislation, corporate governance, insurance, and post-secondary education.
Work independently and have strong legal writing and analytical skills.
Assist with greeting donors and guests, while providing back-up support in our reception areas when needed.
Special projects as assigned.
