About The Position

Advancing our company’s business strategy and delivering the products and services that our clients need to reach their financial goals depends on us—through the advice and counsel we give to our business partners every day and our ability to navigate a complex and dynamic legal, regulatory, and risk and control landscape. Our Legal Department is comprised of three main segments: Corporate, Global Advisory, and U.S. Collective Funds functions. The Corporate legal team covers the corporate activities of T. Rowe Price such as litigation, insurance, employment matters, commercial contracts, privacy, and intellectual property. The Global Advisory legal team supports the legal affairs regarding the offering of investment management services through our global distribution business units within the Americas, Europe, Middle East, Africa, Asia and the Pacific regions, and T. Rowe Price’s involvement in the global capital markets. Our U. S. Collective Funds legal team supports the offering of collective/commingled investment vehicles and advisory services through the Individual Investor (retail), intermediary services, and Retirement Plan Services distribution channels. Role Summary The T. Rowe Price internship program includes a formal orientation, peer and senior mentor assignments, and formal learning opportunities. In addition to the work assignments within the assigned department, interns also gain exposure to associates and senior leaders across the firm through an executive speaker series, networking and social events, and engagement with our Business Resource Groups.

Requirements

  • Full time student pursuing a juris doctorate degree from an ABA-accredited law school, having completed at least one full academic year (1L or 2L)
  • Applicants for employment in the US must have work authorization that does not now or in the future require sponsorship of a visa for employment authorization in the United States (e.g., H1-B visa, F-1 visa (OPT), TN visa or any other non-immigrant work status)

Nice To Haves

  • Cumulative grade point average of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale
  • Interest in corporate law - securities, business law focus.
  • Familiarity with AI tools for research, analysis, and productivity, with interest in expanding usage as tools evolve

Responsibilities

  • Working on a variety of legal, compliance and transactional matters related to the financial services regulation of its global asset management business, compliance and reporting, capital markets, intellectual property, and litigation and corporate governance.
  • Conducting legal research on projects assigned by attorneys and drafting memoranda and business correspondence related to that research.
  • Reviewing and drafting contracts and disclosure documents.
  • Participating in business and industry meetings and conference calls
  • Completing assignments to gain an understanding of the work performed by an in-house legal department that supports the business of a global financial services firm.
