Summary: The Lending Officer develops new business relationships, structures, and closes short-term and long-term agricultural loans while maintaining and servicing an existing portfolio.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in agribusiness, agricultural economics, finance, business, or experience equivalent
  • Lending Officer – 1 year of related experience in agriculture or a financial services role
  • Or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to perform the essential functions of the job
  • Working knowledge of the agriculture industry, agricultural economics & marketing strategies
  • Skill in reading and understanding income statements, balance sheets, tax returns and other financial reports.
  • Skill in listening and conveying awareness of customer’s problem or issue to find a resolution.
  • Skill in reasoning persuasively to sell or promote the Association’s products and services.
  • Skill in utilizing various software applications to increase efficiency and/or effectiveness.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills

Responsibilities

  • Customer Prospecting, Business Development, and Marketing
  • Identifies potential customers by engaging in the community and talking with realtors, attorneys and others and researching landowner publications and legal documents.
  • Utilize business intelligence reports to identify growth opportunities within the regional marketplace.
  • Attends real estate, equipment, and livestock auctions to identify and engage with existing and potential customers.
  • Build relationships with strategic partners to broaden individual networks and increase Association awareness throughout the regional marketplace.
  • Represents Oklahoma AgCredit at community events, seminars, conferences, and similar events.
  • Participates in and contributes to local community organizations.
  • Contacts current customers to maintain strong customer relationships
  • Loan Generation and Customer Support
  • Develops relationships with new and existing customers as an area resource and to further business development.
  • Contacts potential customers to understand their needs and introduce Oklahoma AgCredit’s products and services.
  • Obtains loan applications with all required documentation.
  • Provides information obtained from customers to Credit Team for credit analysis on all loans.
  • Coordinates referrals for Consumer Loans with in-house Rural 1st team.
  • Loan renewals and annual reviews – facilitate with the Credit Team
  • Submits appraisal requests.
  • Ensures loan requirements are fully met.
  • Notifies customer of decision
  • Provides information on customers and closing contacts to Loan Processing Team (LPT) for the preparation of loan documents
  • Loan Closing
  • Compiles and reviews loan documents prepared by Loan Processing Team (LPT) to ensure files meet high standards of external reviews.
  • Ensures the association is in proper lien position.
  • Attends and facilitates Loan Closings between Buyers, Sellers, Realtors, Lenders, and Closing Agents to ensure all parties properly execute closing documents.
  • Obtains final Title Opinion/Policies after closing.
  • Ensures loan is properly booked by reviewing and signing loan review memo
  • Portfolio Management
  • Monitors loans and looks for rate conversion opportunities.
  • Facilitates servicing actions including partial releases and releases of liability.
  • Refinances loans and loan conversions
  • Calls on delinquent accounts to develop a plan to resolve delinquency.
  • Collects on loans after Association determines no other alternatives available to resolve, which may include court appearances or coordinating possession of collateral
  • Field Reports
  • Schedules field inspections.
  • Identifies and evaluates proposed collateral.
  • Takes and files photographs, location of chattels, sources of valuations, and summary of customer operations
  • Continuing Education
  • Completes education/certification requirements for chattel valuations.
  • Attends internal and external training meetings and conferences.
  • Review all credit related policies and procedures in PolicyTech
