About The Position

Lessons Learned Analyst The Opportunity: Serve as a Lessons Learned Analyst and Subject Matter Expert (SME) in the Lessons Learned Program, focusing on the Joint Lessons Learned Information System (JLLIS) as the JLLIS Administrator and Organization Lessons Learned Manager. JLLIS is the Department of War system of record database for lessons learned information and repository. The Analyst is responsible for analyzing collected data, generating assessment reports, facilitating knowledge sharing, and ensuring lessons learned are effectively documented and integrated into organizational processes to support continuous improvement and operational efficiency. Develop a Collection Management Plan for operations and exercises by gathering information, analyzing issues and requirements, and recommending solutions to improve effectiveness. Assist the identified personnel in producing and executing After-Action Reviews (AARs) and provide recommendations to the on corrective actions and best practices for input into JLLIS. Ensure JLLIS is implemented in accordance with regulatory guidelines and manage synchronization and data input from relevant operations and events. Support JLLIS training and procedural guidance for personnel and organizations to meet emerging mission requirements. Organize and analyze collected data to identify trends and actionable insights and produce tailored training materials and updated processes as needed. Record and track information in JLLIS and any other designated systems to support organizational goals and compliance. Maintain professional expertise by participating in lessons learned at conferences, workshops, and training courses. Provide on-site support during exercises, planning workshops, and other mission-critical events to assist with lessons learned integration and JLLIS utilization. Travel as required for meetings, workshops, and events. Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in military operations
  • 8+ years of experience providing military training
  • 5+ years of experience with operating on a military staff
  • 3+ years of experience with exercise, wargame, or experimentation events
  • Experience with the Joint Event Life Cycle
  • Experience in communicating with senior managers and coordinating with partners in oral and written formats
  • Secret clearance
  • Bachelor's degree

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Service or Joint Lessons Learned program
  • Experience as a formal Military Trainer or Instructor
  • Experience with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project
  • Ability to respond accurately and quickly to internal and external staff taskings, develop and coordinate detailed staff packages, develop concise reports for briefings, and deliver them to senior DoW leaders
  • Ability to interpret the intent of a client’s needs effectively and help to shape and form the solution by leveraging team capabilities
  • Possession of excellent oral and written communication skills
