About The Position

The City of Peoria seeks to hire a PTNB Library Aide in the Arts, Culture and Library Services (ACL) Division in the Main Library to provide a variety of library support work including activities in the circulation, reference, youth services or technical services of the library. The position entails sorting, shelving, and filing library materials accurately using established classification systems; maintaining organized shelves and attractive public areas; conducting routine library sweeps and assisting with opening and closing procedures; checking in materials and processing holds using the automated system; preparing and receiving materials for transport; and sorting donated items according to library guidelines. The position also involves providing customer service by answering phones, assisting patrons with accounts, issuing library cards, placing holds, resolving account concerns, and offering general assistance. Additionally, the role supports library programs and activities, completes clerical and circulation documentation, maintains knowledge of library services, and contributes to efficient operations and quality service. Requirements

  • Basic knowledge of the library
  • Basic computer and technical skills
  • Basic customer services skills required
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Valid AZ Driver's License upon hire
