About The Position

The Library Facilities Coordinator will help manage the operations of the library facilities department, oversee physical operations, to include building maintenance, security, space usage and facility growth. They will also serve as a facilitator to execute library initiatives with external agencies, university departments, and consultant groups.

Requirements

  • Facilities maintenance experience
  • Familiarity with library procedures

Responsibilities

  • Oversees the daily operations and completion of maintenance work order by staff.
  • Guides and assists staff with complex tasks and performs quality inspections of work as needed.
  • Oversees routine to mid-level technical maintenance request and repairs.
  • Maintain liaison relationships with Facilities Planning and Maintenance
  • Plans for library space usage and forecasts future growth for library
  • Submits maintenance requests to appropriate department and follows through to ensure the requests are addressed in a timely manner
  • Troubleshoots and resolves problems/complaints from faculty, staff and students
  • Manages transfer of materials from offsite storage and branch library
  • Keeps inventory of equipment up to date with acquisition/disposal reports
  • Works directly with outside vendors and Facilities Planning for upgrading departments within the libraries
  • Closely monitors environmental conditions within library buildings and works directly with Facilities Management to maintain optimum temperatures and humidity
  • Performs similar or related duties as assigned or required.
