Requirements

• One year of professional library experience.
• Master’s degree in Library Science from an American Library Association (ALA) accredited school.

Responsibilities

• Provides exceptional customer service by responding to customer queries and concerns, assisting customers with digital devices, and promoting all material types and products while applying the district’s Great Expectations philosophy.
• Interviews, trains, supervises, and evaluates assigned branch staff and volunteers.
• Schedules staff and authorizes leave to ensure an equitable distribution of work and adequate staffing.
• Maintains vibrant and attractive collections by employing merchandising techniques, presenting engaging displays, and following adopted collection maintenance practices.
• Acts on behalf of the Large Branch Manager in their absence.
• Identifies needs and provides recommendations for improving branch operations (use of space, equipment, staffing, training, etc.).
• Assists with establishing, evaluating, and revising branch goals, objectives, policies, and procedures.
• Plans and conducts programs for the public.
• Oversees the maintenance, safety, and security of the branch.
• Acts as a liaison to outside organizations and serves on standing and/or ad-hoc committees.
