This contract will provide occupational medicine health services and electronic health records management for sworn staff from both the City of Phoenix (City) Fire and Police Departments as well as public safety personnel assigned to other jurisdictions throughout the region who have contracted with Phoenix Fire Department Health and Wellness Center (PFDHWC) for these services.

Requirements

  • Licensed Massage Therapist in Arizona.
  • Three years of experience working as a massage therapist or in healthcare.
  • Current BLS certification.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and work collaboratively with clinicians, patients and other healthcare providers.

Nice To Haves

  • Working knowledge of and experience with the IAFF/IAFC Wellness Fitness Initiative, NFPA 1582 and OSHA 1910 relating to firefighters.
  • Certified CSCS.
  • Interest in working with First Responders and/or in healthcare.
  • Experience in sports medicine massage and stretching.
  • Experience with tactical athletes in a first responder environment.

Responsibilities

  • Provides manual techniques and clinical support under the direction of the Director of Rehabilitation Services and/or Physical Therapist and Athletic Trainer.
  • Administers modalities under the supervision of the Director of Rehabilitation, physical therapist and/or athletic trainer.
  • Exercise instruction and monitoring for exercise technique and progression as prescribed by supervising physical therapist or athletic trainer.
  • Responsible for daily upkeep, disinfection, and cleanliness of treatment areas.
  • Will demonstrate knowledge of emergency procedures, and bio-hazard handling/disposal.
  • Provides administrative support including patient intake forms, scheduling, supply management and ordering, communication with referral sources, PFDHWC staff, outside vendors and case managers.
  • Must be competent in computer usage including but not limited to electronic medical records system and Microsoft Suite.
  • Frequent lifting, bending, squatting, pushing, pulling and gripping objects weighing up to 50 pounds is required.
