About The Position

The Anoka County Compliance and Risk Management Department’s mission is preserving assets with governance, integrity, and care. The department has an immediate opening for a Licensed Mental Health Professional to provide onsite clinical services to employees and their eligible dependents. Some of the critical responsibilities of this position include short-term counseling with appropriate and timely documentation, critical incident response, responder wellness visits, management consultations and promotion of the Employee Assistance Program. This is a full-time, exempt, onsite position. Interviews will take place the week of April 20,2026 for those selected to move forward in the hiring process.

Requirements

  • Requires a graduate degree in psychology or related field and at least 4 years of job-related experience
  • Requires licensure in the State of Minnesota in one of the following: Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, Licensed Professional Clinic Counselor, Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker or Licensed Psychologist
  • Training and experience providing critical incident response and support
  • Experience and familiarity with Employee Assistance Programs
  • Successfully pass driver's license background check
  • Must successfully complete a drug test and pass a thorough background investigation

  • Certified Employee Assistance Professional eligible
  • Training, experience and comfort working with responder populations
  • Knowledge of psychological theories, counseling techniques, and evidence-based practices (e.g. CBT, solution-focused therapy
  • Trained in modalities to treat trauma, critical incident response, and workplace violence prevention
  • Familiarity with organizational behavior, employee relations, and workplace stressors
  • Experience with training delivery and group facilitation
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

Responsibilities

  • Manage individual cases through initial assessment/intake, crisis intervention, information and referral, and counseling services to clients.
  • Provide short-term, solution-focused counseling to employees and eligible dependents when appropriate.
  • Respond to workplace crises such as employee death, violence, or traumatic incidents.
  • Consult with supervisors and department heads to advise on employee behavioral concerns, performance issues, and workplace conflict.
  • Facilitate team activities using established assessments and/or develop curriculum to address team-specific needs.
  • Design and/or deliver training on various topics, as requested.
  • Manage and facilitate wellness visits for emergency response personnel.
  • Collaborate on wellness and retention strategies.
  • Ensure compliance with ethical, legal, and professional standards.
  • Promote Employee Assistance Program (EAP) utilization through outreach, wellness events, and internal communications.
  • Participate in program planning, development, and implementation.
  • Assist with employees’ return-to-work plans following mental health-related absences.
  • Make referrals to external providers when appropriate.
  • Maintain client confidentiality as expected by ethical standards.
  • Adhere to the applicable ethical, therapeutic, and legal standards, which govern service delivery, as well as policies, procedures, and laws, which apply to the organization.
  • Refer clients to appropriate resources and thoroughly maintain clinical documentation.
  • Undertakes additional tasks as determined necessary and appropriate.
