About The Position

We are seeking a Licensed Physical Therapist Assistant (LPTA) to join our Therapy Department at Jamestowne, a short-term rehab facility with an additional focus on outpatient services, with Community First Solutions. Requirements

Associate’s degree from an accredited Physical Therapy Assistant Program.
Current Ohio Physical Therapist Assistant License
At least three years’ experience, preferably in a long-term healthcare environment.

Responsibilities

Applies physical therapy procedures to patients through use of therapeutic exercise, mechanical traction, therapeutic massage, compression, heat, cold, ultraviolet light, water (whirlpool), and electricity.
Measures and fits walkers, canes, crutches, and wheelchair, and provides instructions on the use and care of these items.
Provides instruction in transfers, activities of daily living, gait, pulmonary function, and the use and care of orthosis, prosthesis, and supportive devices.
Performs measurements without interpretation for range of motion, gross muscle strength, length and girth of body parts, and vital signs.
Modifies treatment program within the limits of the specific plan of care according to the residents’ needs and response. Reports changes to the supervisor in writing.
Communicates with staff members and other healthcare professionals on resident’s status and care.
Complies with OSHA standards and ensures the safety of residents in their care at all times.
Adheres to infection control policies, professional therapeutic services, and Community First Solution’s standards, policies, procedures, and guidelines.
Prepares, transmits, and maintains timely and accurate records to include the initial evaluation, progress notes, and attendance records.
Adhere to all policies and procedures of the organization and all federal and state laws regarding the privacy of protected health information.
Adhere to all policies and procedures of the organization regarding the use of technology and technology-based information.
Responsible for welcoming and on-boarding new employees.
