Summary Provide nursing services to the Adult Day Service participants, and act as a resource to caregivers, participants and staff in meeting participants’ health care needs. Assess participants on admission, with respect to health care and dietary needs, and on a continuing basis, review, update and execute that assessment. Establish and review health and nutrition goals for each participant. Act as a liaison to the medical community and funding sources for the Easter Seals Adult Day Services as a whole. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Provide treatments upon receiving a written order from a physician, i.e., monitor medications, compliance with instructions relating to diabetic conditions, eye drops, etc. Provide first aid treatment. If further treatment is necessary, the nurse refers the case to the family physician as indicated. Maintain clinical notes and accident and illness logs as appropriate for program participants and employees. Participate in case conferences or individual consultations to apply medical knowledge and experience as it applies to rehabilitation planning. Assist RN and Program Coordinator with teaching of program participants in curriculum areas relating to health and well-being. Perform all Child and Adult Care Food Program duties that are assigned. Comply with all Child and Adult Food Program standards. Other duties as assigned. Supervisory Responsibilities May supervises nursing students, all program participants and designated staff in situational assessments within the medical area, i.e., Activity & Personal Care Aide, etc.
