About The Position

UPMC Somerset is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to support our Telemedicine Center, with floating responsibilities across Somerset Pulmonary Medicine and Somerset Cardiology. This outpatient role offers a consistent weekday schedule and the opportunity to work across multiple specialties in a dynamic and patient-focused environment. Sign-On Bonus Details: $5,000 for LPN graduates or those with less than one year of experience (with a 2-year work commitment) $7,500 for experienced LPNs with more than one year of experience (with a 2-year work commitment) Purpose: To provide professional nursing care to office patients under the supervision of patient care providers, supporting telemedicine and specialty services.

Requirements

Graduate of an approved LPN school of nursing.
One year clinical experience preferred.
Strong attention to detail
Proficiency with computers and electronic medical records (EMR)
Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)
Basic Life Support (BLS) OR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
CPR required based on AHA standards that include both a didactic and skills demonstration component within 30 days of hire
Act 34
Current licensure either in the state where the facility is located or, if the facility is in a state covered by the multistate Nursing Licensure Compact (NLC) agreement, a multistate license issued by a participating NLC state. Hires and current employees working on an out-of-state NLC license who later change their residency to the state where the facility is also located will have 60 days upon changing their residency to apply for licensure within that state.

Responsibilities

Draw blood and collect specimens.
Administer medications via oral, subcutaneous (SQ), intramuscular (IM), and IV drip routes.
Assist physicians with examinations, diagnostic procedures, and treatments.
Assess patients’ general condition, including vital signs and weight.
Perform IV therapy under the direction of a Registered Nurse.
Document all patient interactions, interventions, and medications in the medical record.
Maintain strict confidentiality of patient records and sensitive information.
Promote wellness through patient education and communication of physician instructions.
Ensure compliance with regulatory standards (OSHA, CLIA, PA Department of Health).
Adhere to all organizational policies and procedures.
