About The Position

We are seeking dedicated Psychologists to deliver high-quality mental health care within an institutional environment. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in assessing, treating, and supporting inmates’ psychological well-being through comprehensive evaluations, individualized treatment planning, and collaborative care. This position requires a strong clinical foundation, the ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams, and a commitment to maintaining mental health stability in a complex, high-need population. Your expertise will directly contribute to improved outcomes, safety, and rehabilitation within the facility.

Requirements

  • Doctoral degree in Psychology from an accredited institution.
  • Current, unrestricted license to practice psychology in the state of Arizona.
  • Minimum of two years of clinical experience, including one year in a comparable institutional or clinical setting.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel between facility locations as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct psychological screenings and assessments using available records and clinical interviews with inmates.
  • Collaborate with mental health and medical teams—including psychiatrists, nurses, social workers, and physicians—to ensure coordinated, integrated care and effective follow-through.
  • Develop, implement, and adjust individualized treatment plans based on psychological evaluations and functional assessments.
  • Perform regular mental health evaluations in segregation and other restricted housing units to monitor inmate adjustment and treatment needs.
  • Apply advanced knowledge of psychological counseling theories and techniques in the delivery of evidence-based interventions.
  • Provide timely crisis intervention, mental health assessments, and confrontation avoidance strategies for inmates in acute distress.
  • Consult with multidisciplinary staff—psychiatry, medical, security, education, chaplaincy, and others—to understand behavioral escalations and shifts in mental health status.
