About The Position

BluePearl Pet Hospital in Downtown Manhattan is seeking a skilled Licensed Veterinary Technician to work alongside our board-certified criticalist. This role will require flexibility to help out in our ER + ICU. Schedule: Day shifts, Sun-Wed, some flexibility Pay: $27.00 - $50.00 / hour + competitive shift differentials This pay band is dependent on experience and advancement through our competency assessment tool. We also offer competitive shift differential pay for eligible hours worked for nights and weekends. Shift differentials are based on a 4-hour minimum. For example: Mon – Fri: 6pm to 8am = +$4.50/hr. Shift Differential Sat & Sun: 8am to 6pm = +$4.50/hr. Shift Differential Sat & Sun: 6pm to 8am = +$8.00/hr. Shift Differential​ Why BluePearl? Responsibilities

  • Triage and stabilize emergency patients upon arrival, managing cases from ER intake through ICU admission.
  • Administer anesthesia for minor surgical procedures, including wound repairs and laceration management.
  • Perform digital radiography, utilizing appropriate sedation, positioning, and low-stress restraint techniques.
  • Monitor hospitalized patients, recognizing changes in vital signs and intervening promptly in high-risk or critical situations.
  • Calculate and administer medications accurately, including constant rate infusions (CRIs) and multi-route drug delivery.
  • Perform phlebotomy and place intravenous catheters with efficiency and precision.
  • Assist with administering blood transfusions.
  • Assist with and maintain advanced supportive care techniques, including feeding tubes and central line catheters.
  • Obtain and maintain BLS and ALS RECOVER CPR certification (provided).
  • Mentor and support team members to promote clinical growth and collaboration.
  • Deliver compassionate client communication, addressing concerns with patience, empathy, and professionalism.
