Short Pump Animal Hospital is hiring a full-time Licensed Veterinary Technician to provide skilled care to our patients and exceptional service to our clients. We provide top-notch care for all pets, including exotics, and have been AAHA-accredited since 1999. Our clinic offers a comprehensive range of services, from emergency care and routine wellness checkups to surgeries and dental care. We also provide specialized treatments in dermatology, soft tissue injuries, senior pet care, and more, including puppy and kitten visits, laser therapy, x-rays, and ultrasounds. Requirements

  • Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT) certification.
  • Ability to handle animals safely and compassionately.
  • Knowledgeable about common disease states and able to alert veterinarians to changes in patient conditions.
  • Familiarity with DEA, OSHA, and hospital safety guidelines.

Responsibilities

  • Support veterinarians with patient care, exams, surgery, anesthesia, and recovery.
  • Safely handle and restrain animals with compassion.
  • Communicate clearly with clients, including care instructions and status updates
  • Perform technical duties such as lab work, radiographs, injections, and IV catheter placement.
  • Maintain accurate medical records and assist with medication dispensing.
  • Help keep exam rooms, treatment areas, and equipment clean, stocked, and ready.
  • Follow hospital, safety, and regulatory guidelines at all times.
