We are a correctional healthcare provider with a regional focus on our clinics located in Alabama, Arkansas, Colorado, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Missouri, Montana, Oklahoma, Tennessee, Wisconsin, and Texas jails and detention centers. Our team oversees the day-to-day healthcare operations in facilities with inmate populations ranging from 25 to nearly 2,000 inmates. Position Overview The Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) / Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) is responsible for delivering nursing care in an assigned area based on individualized patient needs. This role performs both dependent and independent nursing functions in accordance with recognized nursing techniques, procedures, and established standards within the scope of practical nursing. The LPN works under the direction and delegation of the Registered Nurse (RN) while supporting the overall healthcare operations within the facility.

Requirements

  • Current LVN or LPN license in the State of Texas
  • Current CPR certification
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to work in a secure correctional environment
  • Valid, unrestricted LPN license
  • Ability to pass a background check

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in correctional, emergency, or institutional healthcare preferred but not required
  • New graduates are encouraged to apply

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct patient care within the scope of LVN/LPN practice
  • Administer medications and treatments as ordered by the provider
  • Monitor and document patient health status and medical needs
  • Assist with intake screenings and medical assessments
  • Respond to medical concerns and emergencies within the facility
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the medical record
  • Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and healthcare staff to ensure continuity of care
  • Follow TK Health policies, procedures, and correctional healthcare standards
