About The Position

The Licensing & Permitting Technician is responsible for handling the full process of titling, registration, and permitting applications. This position requires interaction with clients and state agencies to ensure compliance and timely submission of required documents. As experience increases, responsibilities expand to include client transitions, regulatory applications, and technician training.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 1+ year of general office experience
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and web-based tools
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills
  • Ability to work both independently and in a team
  • Adaptability in a fast-paced environment and ability to multitask

Responsibilities

  • Research state requirements for titling, registration, and permitting
  • Coordinate with state agencies on supporting documents and fee calculations
  • Prepare and submit title, registration, and permit applications and renewals
  • Track and follow up on submission status with agencies and clients
  • Distribute completed documents (titles, registrations, permits) to clients
  • Manage temporary and specialty permit requests
  • Maintain accurate client files and organize documentation
  • Prioritize tasks to meet deadlines; escalate issues as needed
  • Proactively initiate renewals 90 days before expiration
  • Process work orders through Creatio and coordinate with Accounting
  • Ensure all documents are properly filed and imaged
  • Assist with special projects and maintain workspace security
  • Perform all Level I duties
  • Advise Specialists on improving vehicle compliance to reduce audit risk
  • Support new client transitions and assist with Compliance Analysis Reports
  • Demonstrate full understanding of licensing systems and Microsoft Office
  • Coordinate workflow with other technicians and maintain turnaround times
  • Process Over-Dimensional permits
  • Perform all Level I and II duties
  • Process Hazardous Material and Waste permit applications
  • Maintain client-specific Processing Notes
  • Communicate directly with clients via phone and email
  • Understand and apply federal licensing and permitting regulations
  • Train new technicians on internal systems and federal guidelines
