Goshen New Beginnings, our independent living program for eighteen to twenty-one-year-old young adults, is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Life Coach to provide support for youth and houseparents through behavioral intervention and time spent with youth ages 18 to 21 years old. The Life Coach supports young adults aging out of foster care by building trusting relationships and providing consistent guidance as they develop independence. Life Coaches work closely with both the team and the youth to support education, employment, health, personal development, financial literacy, drivers education, recreation, daily living skills, and overall case management. In this role, the Life Coach partners with youth to monitor progress, support goal achievement, ensure safety, and uphold program expectations. Responsibilities include teaching independent living skills, coordinating and providing transportation, support medication management, documenting daily progress, and coordinating services provided through GNB. Life Coaches meet regularly with youth to develop, review, and adjust individualized goals to ensure services are effective and aligned with each young adult’s growth. Life Coaches also assist with maintaining schedules and ensuring basic program needs are met, including access to food, supplies, programming, transportation, and overall safety and well-being, emotional, physical, spiritual, mental, and social. This position requires knowledge of daily living skills, budgeting, and basic vocational development in order to guide youth toward self-sufficiency. Work with youth to provide aid by supporting youth progress, helping with youth goals, assuring safety, and enforcing program rules. Life Coach assists in: teaching independent living skills, transporting/logistics, medication management, and documenting youth daily progress. The Life Coach is responsible for the coordination of services provided by GNB and to regularly meet with the youth to help develop their goals and to determine if services are working. In addition, the Life Coach should be knowledgeable in skills related to daily living, budgeting and basic vocational skills in order to assist the youth. Life Coach’s assist youth with schedules and make sure basic program needs are met such as food, supplies, programming, transportation, safety, and health (emotional, physical, spiritual, mental, social etc...)
