About The Position

Plan and provide activities for Memory Support residents in long term care and assisted living areas. Life enrichment services are geared to stimulate residents and promote or maintain independence and increase self-esteem. Activities include physical, intellectual, creative, social, spiritual, and service/volunteering opportunities.

Requirements

• High School diploma.
• Time management, excellent communication, public speaking, group management, flexibility, inter-disciplinary collaboration, and ability to work in stressful, dynamic situations are necessary

Nice To Haves

• Experience with older adults and/or people with dementia preferred

Responsibilities

• Oversee, plan, and carry out activity programming and special events for residents living in Memory Support areas (includes holiday decorating and party planning, and program-related communication through bulletin boards, etc.).
• Work with and communicate with the other LECs when planning and implementing programs, and developing monthly calendars.
• Communicate to residents and staff plans for activities and developing descriptions about upcoming activities/events for the calendar.
• Responsible for providing activities on both Memory Support units: Assisted Living and Long Term Care. (Pavilion and Courtyard Park)
• Must be able to lead large and small group activities, sometimes alone and sometimes in collaboration with other Life Enrichment and/or Nursing staff.
• Good time management, organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills are necessary.
• Flexibility in timing, approach, and collaboration are crucial.
• Responsible for assessing resident activities needs and interests and then providing those activities.
• Help maintain patio/courtyard throughout the summer.
• Help complete resident assessments and documentation.
• Perform other duties as directed.
