Sedgebrook is recruiting for a hospitality focused Life Enrichment Coordinator to join our team! This position is responsible for assisting in the planning, coordinating and directing of a wide and varied scope of activities and programming. These activities and programs meet the social and recreational needs of the resident population in accordance with Life Care Service's eight dimensions of wellness model.

Requirements

  • Minimum high school diploma or general education degree (GED) required with one-year experience in geriatrics, recreation, or social administration. Associate's degree preferred.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English and perform simple arithmetic.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook), Canva, and computer skills required.
  • Must have familiarity with navigating internet devices, such as smartphones, tablets, and computers.
  • Must possess a valid state driver's license, along with a good driving record and consent to annual Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) check.
  • Must be able to do the following: Lift, stoop, stretch, and use a stepstool for approximately 60-70% of the workday. Lift up to 50 lbs. Complete small set-ups independently. Assist residents physically in boarding the bus, sitting, standing, and walking. Good visual and hearing acuity required. Good verbal communication skills required. Keen olfactory sense required.

Responsibilities

  • Works with the Life Enrichment Manager and residents to plan, coordinate and direct a wide scope of social and recreational activities with the intent of including all residents in some area of activity.
  • Promote a healthy community culture for all residents. This is a whole person approach to health and wellness which includes eight dimensions of wellness: Emotional, Environmental, Health Services, Intellectual, Social, Spiritual and Vocational. Ensure and exceed residents' wellness needs relating to their mind, body and socul, which may also have a positive effect on the employees, as a result.
  • Assist resident population for calendar opportunities in a professional manner. Tracks and monitors participation and feedback relating to Life Enrichment programs to help determine which programs should be continued, altered or removed.
  • Drives residents to and from planned recreational events and programs when transportation is needed.
  • Coordinates and conducts department orientation for new residents. Gathers interdepartmental feedback and disseminates relevant information to teams, as needed.
