About The Position

At Castle Peak Senior Life & Rehabilitation, we’re looking for a creative and enthusiastic Life Enrichment Director to lead engaging activities that promote joy, connection, and well-being for our residents. As the Life Enrichment Director, you will design and oversee an engaging therapeutic activity program that caters to the unique needs, abilities, and interests of our residents. Your work will inspire physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual well-being, helping residents thrive and live life to the fullest. This role is perfect for a creative and compassionate leader who thrives on organizing meaningful experiences, ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations, supervising a motivated team, and other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of recent experience in a patient activity program and Certified Therapeutic Recreational Specialist (CTRS), activities professional or Occupational Therapist Registered (OTR) by a recognized accrediting body required!
  • Must receive certification within 1 year of employment!
  • Basic knowledge of Core standards of Therapeutic Activity Programs/Services.
  • Ability to display enthusiasm and a positive attitude in promoting activities.
  • Ability to manage planning of several activities and events simultaneously.
  • Creative aptitude for training in arts, crafts, and games.
  • Excellent communication skills, including ability to give directions to others in a manner that is pleasant and easily understood.

Nice To Haves

  • College degree preferred or willingness to enroll and complete state approved or MEPAP course in first year or employment as Director of Activities

Responsibilities

  • Plan and implement on-going daily activities for the residents including group and individual programs, community outings and outdoor activities.
  • Encourage, support, and assist residents to help continue their individual interests and hobbies.
  • Maintain an open working relationship and be involved in care conferences with the resident's family/guardian.
  • Observe and document activity attendance, mood, behavior, create care plans and degree of involvement.
  • Supervise, manage and train activities assistants and volunteers.
  • Prepare and distribute activity calendars and newsletters.
  • Communicate facility programs and organize community events with residents, staff, family and volunteers.
  • Act as a positive representative of the facility at all times.
  • Perform other related tasks as requested.
