As a Senior Underwriter, you will: Review life insurance applications Evaluate financial, non-medical and medical information in accordance with underwriting manual guidelines Adhere to underwriting processes, documentation and turnaround time standards Ensure customer needs are met through providing support and guidance to case managers Stay up to date with underwriting trends and changes Assist with mentoring junior underwriters Share in a collaborative team spirit where everyone pitches in to provide support and training to more junior underwriters Aid in coaching of junior underwriters including in areas of medical risk assessment and documentation Participate in projects and audits Contribute to underwriting projects such as research on rule updates and industry norms Occasionally review audit cases to ensure adherence to underwriting expectations
Requirements
- Bringing with you a bachelor’s degree in an applicable field and 5+ years of progressive growth in life insurance underwriting, you possess a robust skill set in risk assessment.
- Your professional path has been defined by a commitment to cultivating deep expertise in case evaluation with an underwriting authority limit of $3,000,000 or higher.
Nice To Haves
- Experience with third party evidence providers, automated underwriting or industry designations are a plus.
