About The Position

Responsible for the supervision and operations of the pool and pool area during operating hours. The lifeguard will ensure the safety of patrons in and around the pool area Located just minutes from downtown Richmond, Virginia, the University of Richmond blends the intimacy of a small college with exceptional academic, research, and cultural opportunities usually found only at large institutions. Requirements

• Current Lifeguard/First Aid certification
• Current CPR/AED certification
• Some High School

Nice To Haves

• Previous experience as a lifeguard is preferred

Responsibilities

• Open facility and greet patrons upon their arrival, to include notifying the on-duty Facility Manager to unlock the pool.
• Enforce facility rules and regulations regarding the safe and proper use of the pool, deck and diving boards.
• Oversee activities in and around the pool at all times.
• Serve as a first responder in the event of an emergency.
• Complete facility participation reports.
• Secure the facility upon closing, to include notifying the on-duty Facility Manager to lock the pool.
• Administer facility evaluations.
• Attend and participate in departmental employee training programs.
