POSITION SUMMARY The Lifeguard is responsible to assist in overseeing aquatics safety, assist in maintaining inventory – equipment and supplies, assist in pool and restroom maintenance, assist in completing records and reports, assist in providing aquatics orientation and evaluation, facilitate weekly swim testing of campers, understand emergency procedures and participate in Agency activities. ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES Role responsibilities include but are not limited to the following: Assist in supervising all campers and staff in aquatics area and activities; assist in overseeing aquatic safety. Assist in providing aquatics orientation for campers and staff. Assist with swimming assessments on all swimmers. Ensure understanding of all camp aquatic emergency procedures. Maintain the Buddy Board System, including keeping a list with each swimmer’s name, swimming ability, and the name of their assigned buddy. Maintain Swimming Assessment documentation. Assist in the timely completion of all necessary records and reports. Other duties as assigned by Camp Director and/or Aquatics Director. Establish a work environment that creates positive communication between supervisors and employees and assimilates new employees to the Agency’s culture, values and mission. Ensure compliance with all pertinent government and agency regulations and operating standards. Assist with required pool testing, cleaning, and maintenance.
