St. Andrew's Family Fitness Plus of Charleston, SC is actively seeking part-time Lifeguards for our year-round indoor saltwater pool. A DAY IN THE LIFE AS A LIFEGUARD As a Lifeguard, you ensure that our indoor saltwater pool at our fitness center remains a safe, healthy, and enjoyable asset to our members. This pool sets us apart from other gym facilities in the area. You take your responsibility to be one of the two lifeguards that are required to be on duty seriously as you understand what a disappointment any disruption of service is to our members. With your eagle eye, common sense, and quick reflexes, you make sure that everyone using the pool stays safe and smart. Your warm smile and upbeat personality make everyone feel welcome. While you are always kind and respectful, you are not afraid to enforce rules in order to keep everything safe and enjoyable. You understand the health benefits of a well-maintained saltwater pool and monitor it carefully for appropriate chemical and temperature levels. You also take pride in promoting the cleanliness and safety of our facilities as a whole. While you take your job very seriously, working in such a fun environment hardly feels like work! QUALIFICATIONS FOR A LIFEGUARD Lifeguard certification CPR/First Aid/AED certification At least 16 years old Ability to lift up to 40 lbs on land and pull up to 300 lbs in water Tolerance to pool chemicals for several hours at a time Previous experience working as a lifeguard is preferred but not necessarily required. Are you attentive and alert? Are you dependable and professional? Do you have excellent communication skills and enjoy interacting with people? If so, you might just be perfect for this Lifeguard position! PART-TIME FLEXIBLE WORK SCHEDULE Schedules are flexible to cover all hours that the pool is open on Monday - Friday from 5:00 am - 8:30 pm , Saturday 8:00 am - 4:30 pm , and Sunday 1:00 pm - 5:30 pm . We are currently most in need of teammates to cover day shifts. Maximum hours for a part-time position is 29 hours per week . ARE YOU READY TO JOIN OUR TEAM?
