Performs diagnostic x-ray procedures on selected anatomical sites within a limited scope.

Requirements

• Vocational training required.
• If working in North Dakota (ND), completion of a structured academic program recognized by the ND Board of Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy.
• Limited X-Ray Machine Operator certification.
• If working in ND and performing medical imaging procedures, licensed with the ND Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy Board (NDMIRT) is required.
• Conditional license through the NDMIRT is required prior to performing imaging.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients for exams and explain procedures to them.
• Follow strict guidelines about usage of radiographic equipment.
• Elicit patient data and explain radiologic procedures.
• Work with critically ill patients and trustworthy enough to maintain patient privacy.
• Proficient at record keeping.
