About The Position

Waterman Grille is looking for a Line Cook to join the team. Inside a historic 1871 gatehouse perched over the Seekonk River, the Waterman Grille presents a vibrant culinary experience on Providence’s East Side. Our cooking philosophy is inspired by the seasons, emphasizing fresh, local ingredients, with lively flavors and techniques emboldened by the embers of our wood-fired grill. Waterman Grille is proud to be part of the Newport Restaurant Group! In the Line Cook role, you will be preparing, seasoning, and cooking soups, meats, vegetables, desserts, and other food for customers.

Requirements

Must have flexible schedule to work during days, nights, weekends, and some holidays as needed
Prior experience a plus but not required
Must be able to stand for long periods of time
Ability to lift and move 25-50 pounds
Be collaborative, using a team approach to creating an equitable workplace environment and have respectful working relationships

Responsibilities

Measures and mixes ingredients according to recipe to prepare soups, salads, gravies, desserts, sauces, and casseroles
Washes, peels, cuts, and shreds vegetables and fruits to prepare them for use
Prepares meats, fish, vegetables, and other foods
Prepares food products as determined by recipe, technique and procedure
