About The Position

The Line Cook works efficiently, safely and quickly producing high-quality food and ensuring guest satisfaction. The Line Cook maintains a safe and clean work environment. Regular and predictable attendance is expected and required. All Cleveland Metroparks employees must be prepared to work flexible schedules, including evenings, weekends, and/or holidays as required. Prepares quality food according to standardized recipes. Maintains a clean, safe facility that fall in line with local Health Department Regulations. Adheres to portions and preparation guidelines for cost effectiveness. Reviews and adheres to schedule. Takes care of guests needs and food orders/specifications with immediacy and accuracy. Ensures compliance with Health Department codes and regulations.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent required. Previous experience cooking in a restaurant environment preferred.
  • Must complete Serve-Safe program after hire.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to work in a scratch kitchen.
  • Strong verbal communication skills, and customer service-related skills.
  • Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with stakeholders, including employees and the general public.
  • Ability to speak and write clearly, concisely and persuasively using correct grammar, spelling and punctuation with ability to communicate one-on-one or in group settings.
  • Ability to perform work with a high degree of accuracy and organization.
  • Ability to work cooperatively with others.
  • Ability to perform with considerable independence and initiative.
  • Must be available to work evenings, weekends and holidays.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience cooking in a restaurant environment preferred.
