We are looking for a talented Line Cook with a passion for food, hospitality and a commitment to help the restaurant run smoothly, for both the Back of House team and our guests. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: The Line Cook is responsible for the preparation of food items in accordance with production requirements and quality standards while maintaining a safe, sanitary work environment. The goal is the restaurant 100% ready for operation and our guests. Prepare food of consistent quality following recipe cards and production and portion standards, per check from servers. Start food items that are prepared ahead of time, making sure not to over prepare estimated needs. Date all food containers and rotate, making sure that all perishables are kept at proper temperatures. Check pars for shift use, determine necessary preparation, freezer pull, and line set up. Note any out of stock items or possible shortages. Return all food items not used on the next shift to designated storage areas, being sure to cover/date all perishables. Assist in setting up plans and actions to correct any food cost problems, control food waste, and loss. Operate, maintain and properly clean all kitchen line cook equipment. Understand and comply with proper food preparation, cooking, handling and storage. Understand and comply with kitchen sanitation, safety and equipment usage. Assist in putting away incoming orders and deliveries. Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
