About The Position

As a Line Runner at Pali Mountain, you are responsible for setting up, maintaining, and breaking down food service lines during breakfast, lunch, and dinner service in a fast-paced kitchen serving up to 1,000 guests daily. This role includes preparing salad bars, overseeing hot and cold food stations, restocking items, providing excellent guest service, and maintaining cleanliness and sanitation standards before, during, and after service.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in food service or high-volume dining preferred but not required.
  • Ability to stand and move for 8+ hours and lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Comfortable working in hot, cold, or humid conditions during high-volume service periods.
  • Strong work ethic and attention to detail in cleanliness and service quality.
  • Ability to work cooperatively in a fast-paced, team-oriented kitchen environment.
  • Friendly attitude and commitment to excellent customer service.
  • Open availability, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Must be able to take direction, be punctual, and adapt to schedule changes.
  • Reliable transportation to and from work.
  • Ability to report to work during all weather conditions, including snow and rain.
  • Must be at least 16 years of age (or as required by local labor laws).

Responsibilities

  • Set up salad bars, beverage stations, and hot lines before each meal service.
  • Assistwith food prep and ensure all food items are labeled, stocked, and served according to schedule.
  • Monitor and replenish hot and cold food, desserts, and beverages throughout service.
  • Maintain a clean and organized service line, including wiping surfaces, sweeping, and removing trash.
  • Provide friendly and professional service to counselors and guests — greet, assist, and thank them.
  • Ensure all servers comply with hygiene protocols (hairnets, gloves).
  • Consolidate and break down food lines post-service; properly store leftover food.
  • Weigh and document food waste and complete waste logs accurately.
  • Clean all equipment including soda machines, drains, countertops, metal fixtures, and glass.
  • Support the dish pit by transporting dirty dishes and cleaning kitchen tools and food pans.
  • Follow break and check-out procedures as directed by management.
  • Assistwith food prep or other kitchen tasks as assigned after service cleanup.
