About The Position

Seamless Migration is seeking a career and customer-oriented Linux Systems Administrator to join our team in Chantilly, VA Support Government infrastructure by architecting and maintaining secure Linux-based systems in AWS Commercial Cloud Services (C2S) environments Work on business-essential enterprise applications while advancing cloud and automation skills Design, deploy, and maintain Linux servers (Amazon Linux 2, Amazon Linux 2023) in AWS C2S environments Build automation scripts (Bash, Python, PowerShell) to streamline provisioning, configuration management, and system maintenance Implement Infrastructure as Code practices for repeatable, scalable deployments Ensure high availability and performance of production applications through proactive monitoring (CloudWatch) and system health metrics Execute application and database migrations with minimal downtime Deploy security patches (IAVA), updates, and maintain compliance with security baselines Collaborate with Information System Security Engineers (ISSE) to maintain security accreditation under ICD 503 Document security controls, create system security plans, and support Authority to Operate (ATO) processes Maintain configuration management aligned with contract and customer requirements Create clear technical documentation including architecture diagrams, SOPs, runbooks, and system documentation Troubleshoot complex issues across hardware, software, networking, and cloud services Support development, testing, and production environments including web servers and databases (MySQL, SQL Server), as well as DevOps tools Work within a productive and collaborative team environment with well-defined objectives, clear communication, and mutual respect

Requirements

  • Security+ Certification (IAT Level 2 or higher)
  • 3+ years of Linux system administration experience (Red Hat, CentOS, Ubuntu, or Amazon Linux)
  • Hands-on AWS experience, specifically in C2S environments
  • Experience with Microsoft ecosystem technologies including Active Directory, Windows Server, IIS, and SQL Server
  • MySQL database administration experience
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize competing demands independently

  • AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate
  • AWS Certified SysOps Administrator
  • Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA)
  • Experience with AWS services, including Auto Scaling, ELB, CloudWatch, Lambda, ECS, EC2, VPC, S3, and IAM
  • Proficiency in scripting languages including Python, Bash, PowerShell, and JSON
  • Experience with configuration management tools such as Ansible, Terraform, and CloudFormation
  • Experience with containerization technologies including Docker, Kubernetes, and ECS
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines including Jenkins, GitLab CI, and Team Foundation Server
  • Experience with version control using Git
  • Familiarity with the ICD 503 framework
  • Experience with STIG implementation and security scanning tools

Responsibilities
