About The Position

The Leidos National Solutions Division has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Linux System Administrator to work on cloud-based systems with a mission operations team. The team is involved in operations and sustainment of multiple operational cloud deployed geospatial solutions. A successful candidate will have experience with installation, configuration, administration, support and maintenance of cloud-based systems. Responsibilities: Primary responsibilities will involve taking a leadership role in system changes and improvements; working directly with government and contractor POCs to troubleshoot and responding to security reports; proactively monitor all operational systems and perform some of the more complex health checks; Deploy security patches and bug fixes to test and operational environments; update critical databases with new data; author and update operational and security documentation, including troubleshooting guides and SOPs.

Requirements

  • TS/SCI Clearance w/ Poly (or ability to pass Poly upon hire)
  • DOD 8570 Certification (Security+ or equivalent or higher)
  • Typically requires BS and 4 – 8 years of prior relevant experience or Masters with 2 – 6 years of prior relevant experience.
  • Experience in AWS/Cloud technologies
  • Advanced Linux administration experience with RHEL 8 or higher
  • Knowledge of Systems, Architectural, SW Development and SW Sustainment Practices
  • Proactive self-starter demonstrates a positive, willing attitude and excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Organizational Skills: Can plan and prioritize work. Follow tasks to their logical conclusion and make sure that everything has been done to the right standard. Good attention to detail.
  • Communications: Ability to communicate clearly and efficiently with team members and clients, verbally and in writing. Able to present ideas in a variety of ways depending upon audience and context.

  • Experience with ArcGIS/ESRI automation and deployments
  • IAC (CloudFormation, Terraform, Chef, Puppet, Anisible)
  • Automation (Lambda, Ansible, Chef, Jenkins, Git)
  • Low-level Engineering (Git, Jira, Agile tools/methods)
  • Containers (Docker, ECS, EKS, Fargate, AKS)
  • PowerShell and Bash
  • Understanding of RDS and SQL Technology
  • AWS Solutions Architect, AWS Developer, Certification(s)
  • Experience with IC Cloud Architecture implementation methodologies
  • Team Collaboration tools and administration (Jira, Confluence, RocketChat)
