About The Position

We are seeking a skilled Linux/Unix & Oracle Database Engineer with strong command-line experience, shell scripting abilities, and deep knowledge of Oracle SQL, PL/SQL, and data loading utilities. The ideal candidate will support database-related operations, perform scripting-based automation, and work across secure terminal tools to maintain, troubleshoot, and optimize application environments. Requirements

8-10+ years of experience working with Linux/Unix environments and Oracle databases.
Strong command over: Linux/Unix commands Shell scripting Oracle SQL & PL/SQL SQL Loader
Hands-on experience with terminal and database tools: SecureCRT, SecureFX, PuTTY, Toad, SQL Developer.
Solid understanding of database concepts including indexing, joins, transactions, functions, and procedures.

Nice To Haves

Knowledge of performance tuning (Oracle AWR reports, execution plans).
Experience with scheduling tools (Autosys, Cron).
Exposure to Git or CI/CD environments.
Knowledge of data warehousing or ETL workflows.

Responsibilities

Perform day-to-day tasks using Linux/Unix commands including file management, process monitoring, networking, permissions, and system navigation.
Troubleshoot environment issues related to file systems, processes, resource utilization, and connectivity.
Work across environments using terminal tools such as SecureCRT, SecureFX, and PuTTY.
Develop and maintain Shell Scripts to automate operational tasks, data processing, deployments, and monitoring activities.
Optimize existing scripts for performance, error handling, and maintainability.
Ensure scripts follow best practices for reusability, logging, and security.
Write complex queries using Oracle SQL and develop stored procedures, functions, and packages using PL/SQL.
Utilize SQL Loader for bulk data loading, transformations, and migrations across environments.
Perform debugging, tuning, and optimization of SQL and PL/SQL programs.
Collaborate with DBAs and application teams to support database performance, data flows, and application dependencies.
Work with tools such as Toad and SQL Developer for development, optimization, and querying.
Use SecureFX for secure file transfer and manage database migration artifacts.
Maintain database-related documentation including data flow processes, batch job details, and schema knowledge.
