Listed within this posting is the anticipated salary range for this position, plus variable incentive compensation. The final salary offered to a successful candidate may vary and will be dependent on several factors that include, but are not limited to, your business experience, education, and individual capacity. THE OPPORTUNITY: The Litigation Specialist investigates, evaluates, and resolves- complex, high severity and/or atypical commercial line claims. The incumbent will exercise their independent discretion and judgment in handling high severity claims and oversee cases in litigation- collaborating with and directing outside defense counsel.

Requirements

  • Minimum four-year degree or comparable work experience, J.D. a plus
  • 7 or more years industry experience
  • Completion of or participation in the AIC program
  • Knowledge and understanding of litigation process
  • Ability to understand and analyze insurance coverage

Responsibilities

  • Investigate
  • Evaluate coverage
  • Negotiate settlements
  • Review new lawsuits and provide recommendations for handling
  • Ability to identify Complex high exposure claims
  • Monitor defense counsel adherence to litigation procedures
  • Attend mediations both virtually and in person
  • Attend trials, settlement conferences and other discovery processes
  • Review and establish appropriate reserves
  • Provide necessary information to reinsurers and affiliates
