The final salary offered to a successful candidate may vary and will be dependent on several factors that include, but are not limited to, your business experience, education, and individual capacity. THE OPPORTUNITY: The Litigation Specialist investigates, evaluates, and resolves- complex, high severity and/or atypical commercial line claims. The incumbent will exercise their independent discretion and judgment in handling high severity claims and oversee cases in litigation- collaborating with and directing outside defense counsel.
Requirements
- Minimum four-year degree or comparable work experience, J.D. a plus
- 7 or more years industry experience
- Completion of or participation in the AIC program
- Knowledge and understanding of litigation process
- Ability to understand and analyze insurance coverage
Responsibilities
- Investigate
- Evaluate coverage
- Negotiate settlements
- Review new lawsuits and provide recommendations for handling
- Ability to identify Complex high exposure claims
- Monitor defense counsel adherence to litigation procedures
- Attend mediations both virtually and in person
- Attend trials, settlement conferences and other discovery processes
- Review and establish appropriate reserves
- Provide necessary information to reinsurers and affiliates
