About The Position

The Loading Dock Specialist is responsible to oversee all logistical aspects of the shared space of the loading dock and service elevators in coordination with Residential Services, Engineering and Security, to ensure owners’ vendors, packages and use of the back of house spaces is scheduled and compliant. Coordinates booking of the service elevator, controls the ingress and egress of the service entrance ensuring it is always clean, organized and secure. Specialist coordinates vendor access, insurance review, and building orientations for regular service providers and vendors. Receives and tracks packages and deliveries. Issues access controls as scheduled. Responds to all resident and vendor requests in an accurate and timely manner.

Requirements

  • At least two years of post-secondary education
  • Reading, writing and oral proficiency in the English language
  • Ability to communicate to residents, vendors, contractors both verbally and in writing
  • Ability to use variety of software
  • Mobile role requiring movement behind a desk, within the Residential areas and building
  • Ability to work outside in loading area

  • Previous experience in a similar position will be an asset

Responsibilities

  • Coordinates the booking of the service elevator for any Resident needs
  • Assists residents/vendors in all inquiries in connection with proper paperwork and insurance requirements as requested by the hotel and HOA board, including hours of operations, loading dock and elevator procedures, etc.
  • Controls the ingress and egress of the loading area, ensuring the area is only used to unload materials and vehicles are not left behind or staged on 29th Street NW past their approved time
  • Conducts pre-site tour with moving company, vendor or contractor
  • Conducts or coordinates pre & post inspection of elevators, corridors and any common areas of all components of the project and ensure all areas are properly protected before a move or install
  • Coordinates the opening of the units to trades and contractors after authorization has been received, with the help of a security agent and additional Residential Services team members
  • Maintains security and restricts access to non-authorized individuals
  • Works harmoniously and professionally with co-workers and supervisors
  • Updates homeowner profiles with any relevant information
  • Receives, tracks and distributes packages/owner deliveries received through loading dock
  • Handle outgoing parcels
  • Assist residents with delivery of items to residence while following instructions as specified in the Residence Unit preferences.
  • Ensure perishables are handled appropriately (ex: Fridge or Freezer)
