About The Position

Loads and Dynamics Engineer Company: The Boeing Company The Boeing Defense, Space and Security (BDS) Vertical Lift Division is seeking a motivated and talented Loads and Dynamics Engineer to join the Future Vertical Lift team in Mesa, AZ. Perform a wide variety of dynamics-related tasks which may include: vibration analysis using Finite Element Method or theoretical methods, natural frequency (RAP) tests, wind tunnel and flight test planning, monitoring, and reporting, multi-body dynamic analysis, data analysis of vibrations and loads, rotor smoothing factory support (track and balance), equipment shock-vibration qualification, signal analysis, dynamic loads, and others.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement
  • 1 year experience and/or academic course work in vibration, advanced dynamics, aero-elasticity, or control theory
  • This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship.
  • Final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.
  • This position must meet U.S. export control compliance requirements. To meet U.S. export control compliance requirements, a “U.S. Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. §120.62 is required. “U.S. Person” includes U.S. Citizen, U.S. National, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering
  • Experience and/or academic course work finite element theory
  • Familiarity with Matlab/Python for data analysis and plotting
  • Familiarity with Finite Element Analysis tools (such as NASTRAN or ANSYS)
  • Familiarity with Computer Aided Design CAD tool

Responsibilities

  • Perform rotor smoothing and vibration troubleshooting at the Delivery Center flight operations
  • Perform vibration analysis using Finite Element Method or theoretical methods
  • Conduct natural frequency (RAP) tests
  • Wind tunnel and flight test planning, monitoring, and reporting
  • Multi-body dynamic analysis
  • Data analysis of vibrations and loads
