About The Position

This position provides specialized and technical administrative support to The Maries County Bank Loan Officers. The Loan Processor answers non-routine correspondence and assembles highly confidential and sensitive information. This position is responsible for assembling proper loan documentation for loan packages created within The Maries County Bank. Responsibilities include reviewing loans to ensure that acceptable credit standards are maintained and loans conform to established company policies, interacting with a diverse group of customers, and working with internal contacts at all levels of the organization. Upholding customer confidentiality is a must.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • One year prior experience in a financial environment preferred.
  • Prior experience with loan application software, policies, procedures, and documentation preferred.
  • Ability to perform loan analysis and cash-flows as directed by Loan Officers.
  • Basic knowledge of the bank’s products and services preferred.
  • Prior experience in a customer service environment preferred.
  • Ability to utilize general office equipment such as typewriters, copy machines, calculators, and fax machines.
  • Experience with calculators, standard office equipment, and PC software such as Excel, Word, and Outlook preferred.
  • Knowledge of computer systems and changing technology, including word-processing, spreadsheets, Internet, and internal bank software.
  • Prior experience working within a team environment preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Organizes pending loan files and keeps a list of items needed for all in-progress loans.
  • Sets up and maintains files for current and paid off loans.
  • Ensures loan information is complete and accurate before processing.
  • Prepares commercial and residential real estate documentation for Vienna loan processors to type.
  • Ensures that Customer Identification Program (CIP) and Office of Foreign Asset Control (OFAC) verifications have been completed correctly.
  • Assists loan officer by pulling credit reports, preparing loan requests for various committees and board of directors.
  • Types loans as requested by Loan Officer.
  • Obtains current collateral insurance for customers as needed.
  • Provides loan status reports to management on a regular basis and attends loan meetings as needed.
  • Turns over balanced, completed, and organized loan files in a timely fashion to the Loan Administration Officer.
  • Transcribes and/or types a variety of technical and non-technical correspondence and documents such as new loans, loan renewals, loan denials, loan extensions, and letters.
  • Processes and files title applications, liens, UCC forms, appraisals and other specified records and reports.
  • Assists customers and other financial institutions over the phone, in person, or in writing with routine inquiries regarding payoffs, note modifications, beneficiaries, and other loan details.
  • Assembles loan documentation and verifies its’ accuracy.
  • Checks documents for proper vesting, legal descriptions, closing dates, and signatures.
  • Maintains new and paid customer loan files.
  • Releases Titles as needed.
  • Closes loans in adherence with all bank policies and procedures.
  • Advances money from pre-approved lines of credit.
  • Processes, submits, and files insurance information as needed as well as maintains reports showing customers who do not have proper insurance coverage.
  • Acts as a notary for the bank.
  • Performs a variety of clerical duties in accordance with departmental procedures.
  • Inputs loan data into the computer system.
  • Comprehends general ledger accounts/transactions.
  • Files loan documents such as financial statements, credit files, income tax statements, loan extensions and other information as deemed necessary by the bank’s loan compliance policies.
  • Analyzes loans and prepares cash flow statements as requested.
  • Prepares loan packages in accordance with financial standards, policies, and procedures.
  • Maintains a working knowledge of the bank’s lending policies and procedures.
  • Processes online banking requests.
  • Answers the main phone line, researches challenging customer inquiries and direct calls to other departments as needed.
  • Follows bank policies and procedures, including state and federal regulations at all times.
  • Attends training to keep abreast of changes in federal and state banking regulations and ensures that changes are implemented in a timely fashion.
  • Assists with the filing and record keeping of departmental information.
  • Maintains departmental appearance, both personal and general.
  • Assists customers with problem resolution and upholds customer service guidelines.
  • Serves customers in a cordial and professional manner to ensure customer satisfaction with service provided by the bank.
  • Takes advantage of opportunities to promote the Bank when involved in voluntary community activities and civic organizations to cross sell the Bank’s products and services.
  • Completes other duties as assigned.
