About The Position

The position of Loan Servicing Specialist is responsible for boarding new loans, renewals, and modifications by performing maintenance on the Bank’s mainframe computer system. Levels within this position correlate with mastery of essential duties. This position reports directly to the Loan Servicing Team Lead.

Requirements

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or the equivalent combination of education and experience. Work related experience should consist of duties in a business environment. Educational experience, through in-house training sessions, formal school or financial industry related curriculum, should be business or financial industry related.
Intermediate knowledge of Bank operations, products and services; related state and federal laws and regulations, and other Bank operational policies and procedures.
Excellent organizational and time management skills – ability to work with minimal supervision.
Intermediate skills in computer terminal and personal computer operation; mainframe computer system; word processing, spreadsheet and specialty software programs.
Exceptional verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to apply common sense to carry out instructions.
Vision, hearing, speech, dexterity, visual concentration.
A valid driver’s license is required.
Must have the ability to stand, walk, sit and use hands and fingers.
Must have the ability to work the hours and days required to complete the essential functions of the position, as scheduled.
Learning, thinking, concentration, ability to exercise self-control, ability to work in a customer relations’ environment.
Must be able to pay close attention to detail and be able to work as a member of a team.

Responsibilities

Independently manages personal workflow queues
Self-assigns loans to board on to the system after completing required training
Inputs applicant information such as borrower’s name and address; inputs the appropriate purpose, HMDA, CRA, risk grade, and collateral, and other bank defined codes; inputs loan rates, payment schedules and collateral records on the Bank’s mainframe computer system.
Coordinates efforts to collaborate with appropriate parties in order to obtain missing information needed to meet boarding requirements
Reviews loan input to ensure information is complete and accurate.
Performs corrective maintenance as required by a quality control review
Maintains Loan Servicing goals by staying within management defined error ratios
Answers the telephone/Email; responds to routine loan officer or customer inquiries relative to loans.
Cross trains in all loan servicing functions.
Assists in writing and maintaining departmental procedures
Participates in special projects including but not limited to mass loan clean-up, corrections, merger/acquisition related duties, and system enhancements
Operates computer terminal or personal computer to resolve problems within given authority.
Completes annual compliance courses.
Adheres specifically to all corporate policies and procedures. Also adheres to Federal and State regulations and laws; including, the Bank Secrecy Act and the Anti-Money Laundering Act.
Adheres to all levels of our Service Excellence standards.
Performs other duties as required.
