About The Position

In this position... North America Material Logistics is responsible for coordinating the movement of all inbound material to support vehicle production at each of our assembly plants. This role is responsible for developing the inbound logistics design and budget as programs move through the program life cycle, and ultimately delivering an efficient and cost-effective network to support vehicle launch. This position is a hybrid model (remote/in-person).

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • 3 or more years of experience in one or more of the following fields: Supply Chain, Logistics, Premium Freight, Manufacturing
  • Strong communication skills and team building
  • Strong analytical abilities, coupled with decision-making capability

  • Demonstrate aptitude to deliver new IT tools to support our technology requirements
  • Strong leadership skills to collaborate with plant personnel, staff MP&L, and cross-functional (Purchasing, Lead Logistics Providers, etc.) teams
  • Strong problem-solving skills, able to conduct root cause analysis and develop permanent corrective actions
  • Demonstrate ability to produce quality results under time constraints, sometimes in team setting, other times alone
  • Strong understanding of Material Planning & Logistics systems (TMS or similar systems) and Microsoft (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio)
  • Experience with Data Analytics tools (Alteryx, QlikSense, Google Cloud Platform, etc.) desirable

Responsibilities

  • Identify and drive implementation of current and forward model freight savings ideas to contribute to NAML cost efficiency roadmap
  • Support achievement of $100M+ NAML Cost Reduction Task.
  • On-time completion of Forward Model deliverables supporting final logistics design launch plan and timeline.
  • Complete all Forward Model Milestone, SoMP & Ad Hoc study requests accurately and on time.
  • Single point of contact for NAML coordinating department study responses to studies and department reviews.
  • Represent NAML / support Purchasing’s Resourcing Workflow Management (RWM), ASAP/SOBA/CPA/SWT Process, and Global Council Steering Teams (GCSTs).
  • Provide accurate and timely study responses to achieve total enterprise cost decisions.
  • Champion / Drive Total Landed Cost Decisions.
  • Develop and maintain freight databases, dashboards, and key metrics.
  • Design and launch Forward Model networks within approved budgetary / targeted CPUs.
  • Work with plant launch personnel to ensure efficient and effective network planning
