About The Position

Job Summary: The Logistics Coordinator works with the logistics operations team in communicating with carriers and customers to guarantee on-time service for all shipments. Provides a high-level of service and performance in maintaining and developing strong relationships with customers and carriers. Technology Proficiency: Utilizes Syfan Logistics’ transportation management systems and other logistics technologies in executing the duties of the position. Coordinating Agility & Problem Solving: Demonstrates the ability to adjust to changing load situations as required and is able to proactively identify logistics issues with customer loads. Proficiency in Operations Procedures: Performs position specific duties according to the established procedures in meeting Syfan and customer requirements. Team Culture Alignment: Demonstrates interactive skills and behaviors that strengthen the team's ability to perform.

Requirements

  • Strong customer service and interpersonal skills that include handling difficult carrier and customer situations in a respectful and professional manner.
  • Basic computer proficiency for optimal performance using Microsoft Office, Syfan Logistics’ transportation management system, customer web sites, and basic keyboard proficiency.
  • Excellent organizational, time management, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and adapt quickly to changing situations.
  • Ability to receive coaching and follow procedures and management directions.
  • Ability to work cooperatively in a dynamic team environment in a high call volume setting.
  • High school diploma / GED or equivalent

Responsibilities

  • Dispatches carriers by phone and computer in an efficient and professional manner.
  • Manages load information including pick-up and delivery times for all shipments using logistics management software.
  • Tracks and communicates the movements of drivers to shippers and receivers in accordance with established procedures and load specific information.
  • Properly directs and resolves inbound calls from drivers and carriers to obtain accurate status and location updates to ensure on-time delivery.
  • Efficiently updates Carrier Sales and Customer Sales Reps of any shipment delays or issues when required.
  • Validates all load data prior to delivery and addresses all types of product discrepancies requesting documentation as needed.
  • Effectively documents the required details of all communications with carriers and customers in the TMS logs.
  • Ability to proactively identify load issues and works with team to promptly implement solutions.
  • Performs other essential duties as assigned by management in support of optimal operations performance.
