The Marketplace Food Shelf, Housing Programs, Shop for Change Thrift Shop, and Children's Programs operate in a professional and dignified manner, allowing program participants the opportunity to choose the products and resources that are most helpful for their situations. We are currently hiring a Logistics Coordinator . The position is full time, 40 hours per week, non-exempt, and benefits eligible. Pay for this position is $23.00-25.00 per hour , depending on qualifications with an emphasis on higher pay for multi-lingual applicants or previous leadership experience. The Logistics Coordinator position is responsible for a range of leadership roles in operations at the Marketplace Food Shelf. The Logistic Coordinator will demonstrate PRISM's commitment to high-quality customer service and lead with PRISM's values of dignity, accountability, collaboration, and innovation. This position will ensure a safe, organized, and efficient warehouse and food distribution area. PRISM staff are cross-trained and actively support one another across programs and departments.

  • A valid driver's license and clean driving record.
  • Basic to intermediate computer skills and willingness to learn new tools and software as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee day-to-day operations of the Food Shelf, including receiving distribution, storage, and participant services.
  • Communicate Food Shelf Guidelines and Procedures to participants, volunteers, and staff.
  • Maximize participant dignity and address concerns or complaints with professionalism and care.
  • Maintain positive and professional working relationships with all staff and volunteers.
  • Provide ongoing direction, supervision, and mentoring to Food Shelf staff and volunteers.
  • Maintain a calm demeanor while addressing multiple and competing priorities.
  • Maintain accurate inventory of food items; coordinate restocking, ordering, and deliveries with the Food Banks and other vendors.
  • Place food orders after conducting cost-effective reviews by comparing prices from approved vendors.
  • Ensure food is handled, stored, and distributed in compliance with all safety, sanitation, and Food Bank standards.
  • Label all foods with the date received and expiration date.
  • Oversee loading and unloading processes with drivers, volunteers, and staff.
  • Ensure proper transport and disposal of cartons and pallets.
  • Manage volunteer and Food Shelf scheduling, including weekly distributions and special events.
  • Implement and maintain efficient product workflows for receiving, distribution, and reporting.
  • Lead deliveries and other external partner pick-ups.
  • Drive PRISM vehicle to gather food donations, as needed.
  • Implement and maintain procedures for warehouse, food safety, and cleanliness.
  • Ensure full compliance with all Food Bank and TEFAP requirements, including food safe storage in the back of house.
  • Complete monthly statistics reports for both Food Banks.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records for all program and grant reporting requirements.
  • Oversee and support volunteers, including onboarding, daily instruction, problem solving, scheduling, and redirection.
  • Lead Food Rescue operations, including volunteer scheduling.
  • Provide ongoing support in collaboration with the Volunteer Manager through coaching, leadership, and clear guidance to ensure services are delivered with dignity, safety, respect, and efficiency.
  • Manage equipment, maintenance requests, and physical space needs in partnership with the Administrative Manager and Program Director.
  • Assist in budget monitoring, grant support, and help to identify opportunities to expand food shelf services.
  • Collaborate closely with the Program Director on strategic planning and program improvements.
  • Coordinate projects, referrals, and nurture relationships with other food shelves.
  • Ensure that food is properly received, documented, and stored.
  • Actively work to keep the hallway and warehouse area safe.
