About The Position

The Logistics Dispatcher for TALKE USA is responsible for coordinating and optimizing daily transportation operations to ensure safe, efficient, and timely delivery of freight. This role combines real-time dispatch execution with proactive planning to maximize equipment utilization, reduce empty miles, support driver compliance, and meet customer service expectations. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced logistics environment, demonstrates strong decision-making skills, and understands the operational and financial impact of effective load planning.

Requirements

High school or GED; Associate’s degree preferred in Logistics, Transportation, or related field
Minimum 3 years of experience in trucking dispatch or transportation coordination
Experience with route planning and scheduling required
Knowledge of DOT and FMCSA regulations, including Hours of Service (HOS)
Experience using Transportation Management Systems (TMS) and GPS tracking platforms
Strong computer proficiency (Microsoft Office, email, data reporting)
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Ability to maintain professionalism under pressure
Effective conflict resolution and problem-solving skills
High level of organization and attention to detail
Ability to build trust with drivers and maintain positive working relationships
Strong customer service orientation
Collaborative team player with cross-functional communication skills
Demonstrates urgency and sound decision-making in time-sensitive situations

Nice To Haves

Experience in regional, port, intermodal, in-plant, or industrial freight operations preferred
Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus

Responsibilities

Assign drivers and equipment to loads based on availability, qualifications, and compliance requirements
Monitor shipment progress and ensure on-time pickups and deliveries
Plan daily and weekly routes to maximize efficiency and minimize deadhead miles
Coordinate reloads and backhauls to increase revenue and equipment utilization
Communicate load details, changes, and customer updates to drivers
Ensure compliance with DOT regulations and HOS requirements
Track key performance indicators (on-time performance, utilization rates, fuel efficiency)
Address service disruptions, delays, breakdowns, or schedule changes promptly
Maintain accurate dispatch records and documentation in TMS
Collaborate with maintenance, safety, and operations teams as needed
Support cost control initiatives and operational improvements
