About The Position

This position ensures the pick-up, delivery, and distribution of donations and purchases for all Catholic Charities Worcester County (CCWC) locations, including the Family Shelter and Emergency Area Offices. This role also maintains the storage areas for these items, ensuring proper organization, cleanliness, and compliance with safety standards.

Requirements

  • Minimum 1–2 years of experience in delivery, logistics, or warehouse operations.
  • Familiarity with inventory management and basic record-keeping.
  • Knowledge of safe driving practices and vehicle maintenance requirements.
  • Valid Massachusetts driver’s license required.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with team members and external partners.
  • Proficiency in English for reading, writing, and verbal communication to complete logs, follow safety protocols, and coordinate pickups/deliveries.
  • Problem-solving skills for handling unexpected delays or issues.
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks.
  • Basic computer skills for maintaining logs and scheduling.
  • Ability to use technology for time and attendance tracking (e.g., ADP or similar systems).
  • Ability to lift and move items up to 50 lbs. regularly.
  • Comfortable driving long distances, in varying weather conditions, and managing time effectively for multi-location routes.
  • Ability to bend, stoop, and stand for long periods during loading/unloading.
  • Mental focus and attention to detail for accurate record-keeping and safe driving.
  • Ability to remain calm and adaptable in fast-paced or changing environments.
  • Walking and climbing are required for entry and mobility throughout all Catholic Charities Worcester County offices.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain a valid Massachusetts driver’s license and a safe, clean driving record.
  • Safely operate company vehicles to pick up and deliver donations, purchased items, and other materials.
  • Regular travel between Catholic Charities Worcester County (CCWC) locations and designated donor sites.
  • Weekly interstate travel (e.g., Rhode Island) for specific pickups.
  • Maintain a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.
  • Drive in varying weather conditions and traffic situations.
  • Adhere to all traffic laws and company safety regulations.
  • Use company-issued gas card responsibly for fueling vehicles.
  • Assist with stocking, restocking, and disposal of expired or unusable items.
  • Ensure proper storage, handling, and distribution of food and other materials.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of designated storage and office areas.
  • Coordinate with multiple offices and programs to meet all pick-up and delivery needs.
  • Maintain accurate logs for donation pick-ups, drop-offs, and deliveries.
  • Report any vehicle issues promptly and ensure regular maintenance checks.
  • Attend required meetings and trainings.
  • Follow all safety protocols and contribute to a culture of safety through awareness, reporting, and safe work practices.
  • Perform additional related tasks as assigned by management.
