About The Position

As the Logistics Supervisor, you will manage transportation and related logistics requirements for goods/services to and from internal/external customers and suppliers that support the Fuels & Services organizations. You will be responsible for departmental operations planning and execution, as well as performing professional activities within a defined technical discipline. The role operates with a moderate degree of autonomy, guided by established policies, procedures, and review of end results.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university or college in Project Management, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Operations, International Studies, or similar field
  • 5+ years of experience in direct team leadership, LTL/FTL shipment coordination, warehousing, multimodal logistics, and/or hazardous material shipping.
  • OR High school diploma with at least 9+ years of experience in direct team leadership, LTL/FTL shipment coordination, warehousing, multimodal logistics, and/or hazardous material shipping.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the USA without sponsorship now or in the future.
  • This role is restricted to U.S. persons (i.e., U.S. citizens, permanent residents, and other protected individuals under the Immigration and Naturalization Act, 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3)) due to access to export-controlled technology.
  • GE will require proof of status prior to employment
  • This role requires access to U.S. export-controlled information. If applicable, final offers will be contingent on ability to obtain authorization for access to U.S. export-controlled information from the U.S. Government.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of Import/Export regulations and Domestic/International Logistics/Shipping.
  • Strong functional knowledge of 49CFR, IATA, IMDG, to ensure alignment between business operations and applicable legal requirements.
  • Experience in a highly regulated industry that requires a demonstrated compliance mindset. Nuclear industry experience a plus.
  • Applicable experience with coordinating, evaluating, overseeing hazardous shipments, including Radioactive.
  • Exposure to Customs-Trade Partnership Against Terrorism (CTPAT) implementation, auditing, reporting.
  • Demonstrated ability to create operational guidelines and metrics to facilitate strong process performance and improvements.
  • Strong analytical skills.

Responsibilities

  • Promote a collaborative team environment that encourages employee engagement and drives excellence in compliance, safety, customer service, quality, and productivity.
  • Lead, hire, and develop, the Fuels & Services hourly logistics team, including staffing, coaching, training, and performance management.
  • Communicate clearly to explain technical information, align teams, build consensus, convey performance expectations, and address sensitive personnel matters as required.
  • Foster employee engagement through strong floor presence, including daily huddles, observations, and pre‑job/post‑job reviews.
  • Define and execute transportation and work plans for inbound and outbound shipments; select carriers, organize carrier loads, and manage logistics service providers through final delivery.
  • Apply in-depth knowledge of logistics and transportation disciplines, supported by analytical and technical expertise, to execute established policies and strategies.
  • Exercise sound judgment and recommend solutions beyond standard procedures to address complex logistics scenarios and ensure compliant, and on-time delivery.
  • Make informed decisions using multiple internal data sources and limited external inputs beyond the immediate team.
  • Act as the subject matter expert (SME) for hazardous material shipments; support electronic work authorization (EWA) approvals, Temporary Operating Procedures (TOPs), Operating Procedure revisions, and Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs).
  • Coordinate freight payment resolution, purchase order placement, and Logistics Service Provider (LSP) onboarding.
  • Obtain, coordinate and maintain required certifications (49 CFR, IATA, IMDG, radioactive shipping, RCRA) and conduct Logistics Service Provider audits to ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Ability to maintain, audit, and approve payroll documentation, disciplinary tracking systems, staffing rotations, and operational schedules.
  • Support and organize after-hours Emergency Response Organization (ERO) requirements, manage emergent service parts shipments, and certify as the warehouse area manager for change management approvals.
  • Implement logistics best practices and ensure effective integration with other operational functions; maintain awareness of the competitive landscape and market differentiators.
  • Communicate business requirements, priorities, and risk parameters clearly to appropriate internal and external stakeholders.
  • Identify, recommend, and implement continuous improvement and cost-saving initiatives aligned with business objectives.
  • Prepare and present periodic reports and metrics related to compliance, quality, cost savings, opportunities, risks, accomplishments, and overall value creation.

Benefits

  • The base pay range for this position is $86,300.00 - 143,900.00 USD Annual.
  • This position is also eligible for a 10% performance bonus/variable incentive compensation/equity.
