About The Position

As the logistics manager, you will be responsible for planning, directing, and coordinating the transportation and distribution of goods. This role ensures efficient inbound and outbound freight operations, inventory accuracy, and cost-effective logistics performance while supporting production and customer delivery requirements.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in the logistics industry or related industry.
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Strong understanding of freight terms (FOB, Incoterms).
  • ERP/MRP experience required (SAP, Oracle, Epicor, Infor, etc.).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to safely operate a forklift.
  • Analytical and data-driven decision making.
  • Strong organizational and planning skills.
  • Effective communication and leadership abilities.
  • Problem-solving and continuous improvement mindset.
  • Combination of office and warehouse environment.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.

  • Bachelor’s or associate degree in related field.
  • Experience in a manufacturing or distribution environment.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee inbound and outbound freight operations (LTL, FTL, parcel, expedited).
  • Negotiate and manage carrier and freight rates.
  • Optimize routing, load consolidation, and freight utilization.
  • Manage third-party logistics providers (3PLs), as applicable.
  • Oversee shipping and receiving processes to ensure accuracy and timeliness.
  • Ensure proper packaging, labeling, and documentation for shipments.
  • Utilize ERP/WMS/TMS systems to manage shipments and track performance.
  • Supervise logistics staff including shipping/receiving personnel and coordinators.
  • Provide training and performance management.
  • Collaborate with procurement, production, customer service, and finance.
  • Develop, evaluate, and revise logistics policies, procedures, and plans.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives to reduce costs and improve service levels.
  • Manage systems to ensure that pricing structures adequately reflect logistics costing.
  • Keep management aware of changes in freight costs and market changes.
  • Perform other related duties as directed.
